Holy Rocka Rollaz

Single Tickets are now on sale! Ticket prices range from $19 - $34.

Take an authentic trip back to the fantastic 50s with The Holy Rocka Rollaz!

If it’s the classic early rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly of Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, Johnny Cash (and many more!) that you want, played just the way those legends played it…you have found your dream band! Minnesota’s own Holy Rocka Rollaz bring back the sound, the look, the memories and nostalgia of one of America’s most treasured eras. There’s nothing but PURE EARLY AMERICAN ROCK ‘n’ ROLL about them.

Nothing pleases these rock ‘n’ roll veterans more than seeing different generations enjoy this classic music together. The Holy Rocka Rollaz play with such energy and joy that people of all ages can’t help but pack the dance floor and celebrate. The trio collectively brings decades of live and studio experience to their shows and music.

Front man Mark Flora says his proudest moments come while playing the Winter Dance Party each year at the legendary Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA. “Knowing that my band is regularly on the stage Buddy Holly played his last show, well, it just gives me chills,” he said. "And seeing our name annually on the Surf Ballroom's marquee...well...that'll never grow old!"

With fellow musicians, drummer Matt Alexander & stand up bassist/vocalist Lisa Lynn, the three musicians have played many stages; including the Minnesota State Fair, Missouri State Fair, the huge Minnesota Street Rod Association Back To the '50s Car Show, South Dakota State Fair, First Avenue, the Cabooze, the historic Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, Treasure Island Casino, Mille Lacs Grand Casion, Hinckley Grand Casino Concert Hall, the Redlin Art Center in South Dakota, many Upper Midwest fairs and festivals, Winona Steamboat Days, Slice of Shoreview, the world's largest county fair in Clay County, Iowa, Coon Rapids Concerts By The Dam, Lee's Liquor Lounge, the Uptown Bar, the Fine Line, the 400 Bar, Schooner Tavern, barn dances, car shows, sock hops, private shows and prisons. Mark's wife, Lisa Lynn officially became the bassist in early 2014.

The band's first show together was in the South Dakota State Penitentiary several years ago, serving in a ministry capacity, where Flora has been sharing good news to inmates since 2003. "We were having so much fun playing in the State Pen that we decided to take our music to car shows and other events. We really do enjoy playing 50s rock 'n' roll just the way it was played back in the day.  Seeing people light up when we really go for it brings this band a lot of joy. We hope we can do this for many years and for many people," said Flora.

From the White House to the Grand Ole Opry, Jeff has been playing guitar and performing all his life. He’s a Nashville producer and writer and loves the concentrated creative scene in Music City. His hometown roots in Minnesota and years in Arizona earned him a the job of bandleader with Hall of Fame artist Glen Campbell for 15 years. He also found time to land his music degree, regional #1 hit records and the honor of backing artists including Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Toby Keith, Buck Owens, Tracy Byrd, Bo Diddley, Dizzy Gillespie, Gene Autry, Mac Davis and many more. Once arriving in Nashville, Jeff focused on writing and producing, but because of his reputation and guitar skills, was soon touring with megastar Kenny Chesney, Lee Greenwood, Sarah Darling, Tammy Cochran and others.

Jeff’s first guitar was at age 9 and he immediately formed his first band, The Emperors. From there, it was local clubs and concerts, paying his dues and working with musicians who became sidemen for Prince and Bob Dylan. He moved to Arizona, got his first Nashville song contracts and put together one of the most popular and acclaimed bands in the Phoenix music scene over his 20 years there. One fateful chance encounter with Glen Campbell led to his longtime tenure on that tour and set the stage for his move to Nashville in 2000.

Today, Jeff is an active Nashville music producer, songwriter, session guitarist, recording artist and educator and tours as a dynamic bandleader and solo artist. His show Salute To Glen Campbell is appearing nationally, as well as a solo tour Jeff Dayton ~ American Troubadour.

Marc Broussard Christmas

Friday | December 7 | 7:30 PM

Prices range from $15 to $25.

Marc Broussard is an artist with a unique gift of channeling the spirits of classic R&B, rock and soul into contemporary terms.  His father, Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist of “The Boogie Kings”, nurtured Marc’s musical gifts at an early age, and the vibrant Lafayette, Louisiana music scene gave Marc the opportunity to practice his craft consistently from childhood through early adulthood. He still lives in Louisiana today. After releasing a successful independent EP at age 20, Marc signed a record deal with Island Records. Marc’s song “Home” was successful on radio and catapulted him onto the national touring stage. His music has been placed in many TV shows and movies. Marc released multiple albums with major labels over the next 10 years but has recently returned to his independent roots.  Being an independent artist allows Marc to release more content and truly tap into his creative spirit.  Marc released an album for charity on September 30, 2016. It is a soul covers album appropriately titled “Save Our Soul 2”. He donated 50% of the profits to City of Refuge. The live performance video of the acoustic version of “Cry to Me” from

Single Tickets are now on sale! Ticket prices range from $19 - $34.

Music has always been a driving force in Suzanne O Davis'  life as a vocalist, flute player, pianist, teacher, and high energy performer. Her roots started in Ohio at the age of 5, where she was enrolled in children’s programs at the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has voraciously studied in proper classrooms, private lessons, universities, and the road school of hard knocks. Suzanne brings all of these facets together to make each performance a combination of integrity, sophistication, and rock ‘n roll.

Having played on some of the finest stages to standing ovations in several countries around the world, Suzanne has toured in production tribute shows to ABBA, Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, and many other variety shows. She has had the opportunity to share stages and open up for acts such as America, KC and the Sunshine Band, Taylor Dayne, Eddie Money, Orleans, Gary Puckett, the Village People, and BJ Thomas.

She continues this amazing journey with her latest and most heartfelt tribute to Carole King, ‘Tapestry’. This show has been receiving incredible attention and standing ovations, playing to sold out audiences in Canada and the US.  Not only does Suzanne channel the characteristics of Carole at the piano, but her comfortable stage presentation really endears her to the audience. “I really like to have fun and talk ‘with’ the audience about the history of the songs.  I think people want to feel that we’re all sharing these moments together…and we are.”

Suzanne has an incredible career, but wanted to present a show that stands out from other tribute acts with an artist that is a genuine fit, and one of a kind.  She also feels that the importance of this show is not to be an over-the-top flashy spectacle, but an organic and respectful salute to a musical icon that has had so much influence on popular music. “The real Carole King fans are loving the show, totally appreciate that we keep it real, and get the fact that I bring the vibe of Carole with me onstage”, says Suzanne.

From the mind of Chris Rupp, founder of Home Free and the “Chris Rupp Project,” comes a brand new vocal quartet that is ready to forge a new identity in the music world.  Each member has a unique musical and performance background, allowing for exciting possibilities. Combining elements of pop, swing, rockabilly, country, and much more, 7th Ave is aiming to reinvent and uproot the standard definitions of all of those genres through our innovative arrangements and fun music videos.

CHRIS RUPP
Chris was the founder and musical director of the country vocal band Home Free for 15 years, and is now taking his skills and talents to his latest and greatest project, 7th Ave.  Chris was born and raised in Mankato, MN and spent his whole life surrounded by music, as his mother is a professional musician as well.  He graduated with a degree in music from Minnesota State University – Mankato, and spent the next decade teaching piano, guitar, and voice privately while at the same time working to build Home Free into the sensation that it is today, highlighted by their 2013 Season 4 victory on The Sing-Off.  He has collaborated with such artists as Kenny Rogers, The Oak Ridge Boys, Charlie Daniels, Kira Isabella, Taylor Davis, Peter Hollens, Nick Lachey, Jewel, Patrick Stump, and Shawn Stockman. He also has released his own solo album of original music, Shine, as well as a collection of classical piano pieces.

ADAM BASTEIN
Currently dwelling in New York City, Adam was born and raised in a tiny town in Michigan. Adam began singing at the early age of 12, mostly in the form of duets with Celine Dion…well, Celine’s compact discs…and he went on to study music at the University of Michigan – Flint. He has traveled much of the world as a singer on cruise ships, and lent his talents to several a cappella groups including The Alleycats, Blue Jupiter, and Home Free. Eventually, Adam made his way to the Big Apple where he is now singing for a live music production company, Element Music. Adam has performed for and with some of today’s most iconic performers including Paul McCartney, Lionel Richie and Bette Midler. He is beyond happy to be a part of this new adventure with 7th Ave!

TRISTIN RUPP
Tristin comes from the very musical Rupp family. She earned  her BFA degree in Musical Theatre from Minnesota State University, Mankato. She now pursues singing, acting, and dancing in Los Angeles. You may have seen her on “Criminal Minds,” the film “About Last Night” with Kevin Hart, and the popular TV show, “Shark Tank.” She also teaches dance fitness classes all around southern CA and co-operates an on-line dance fitness channel called, “TnT Dance Factory.” She is a co-director, co-choreographer, and co-musical director for children’s musicals all around the greater Los Angeles area with the production company, Encore Arts. Musical Joy in Two Worlds

Sunday | April 7, 2019 | 2:00 PM

Single Tickets are now on sale! Ticket prices range from $13 - $25.

Sacred & Secular: Musical Joy in Two Worlds, directed by Dr. Jonathan Stewart, deals with issues of life and death in both sacred and secular music. Moving from the sacred with "Requiem for the Living" by Dan Forrest to excerpts from "West Side Story", "Porgy and Bess", Big River", "Cats" and "The Barber of Seville" takes us on a journey between two musical worlds.

With the retirement of Maestra Susan Mueller, the 2018- 2019 season will be directed by three different directors. They are, in essence, auditioning for Susan's spot. It will be an exciting season for the audience, as well as, for the Choral Society. It will be a fun journey for all of us.

All Choral Society concerts are general admission. Seats are on a first come first serve basis.

Chance, luck, divine orchestration, serendipity--whatever it may be called--all feature the coincidence of seemingly random singular events that result in beneficial but unintended outcomes.  It can be found anywhere.

Kendall Ramseur, Cordaro Rodriguez, Micah Christian and mason Morton all met at and began sharing thier musical intersts at Boston University.

After graduation in 2012, Michah was called to the deserts of Peru as a volunteer while Mason, feeling uncertain of his path in life, pursued yet another degree in music to buy himself some time to think about who he was and wanted to become. Kendall decided to pesue a career as a solo cellist and singer- songwriter. However, the enormity of getting such a career off the ground pulled him underground to the Boston subways as a busker. Cordaro, graduating with a law degree was faced with hte toughest legal market of the century. Unsure of pursuing law further, he accompanied Kendall in his subway performances.

Finding Micah fresh out of his desert experience, serendipity placed before him the opportunity to audition for America’s Got Talent.  He said yes.  Micah asked Cordaro to join him.  He said yes.  Cordaro asked Kendall and Mason to join them.  They said yes.  Everyone said yes. Not one of them could even tell you why they said yes, and they all would deny having felt any deep moving conviction to say yes.  To say yes was as unforeseen to them as the opportunity itself.  Neither would they admit that their yes’s were particularly hopeful or excited ones.  Rather, their yes was conceived by a thorough and utter resignation to serendipity.  And so, the Sons of Serendip were born.

--

Sons of Serendip were finalists on season 9 of America’s Got Talent.  They continue to create beautiful music through the use of a harp, piano, cello, and voice.
